Good question, and one that I've pondered as well. For my, Grim War
was like a delicious riff on GURPS Cabal, with a more interesting take
on how magic actually works game-mechanically... and then there were
some mutants stuck there for some reason.
I guess the easiest fix for things like the mutant Mafia family is to
just make them naturally good conduits/hosts for spirits. Bam, done.
