[ORE] Re: Progenitor Play-By-Post Game Interest

Posting is generally one or more forum posts per day on average, there is some flexibility there but it's usually a bit slower since everyone has different schedules. Turns would only really come up during conflicts, and I would expect during those times for players to try to post as fast as possible (min. once per day for these) and observe their place in the turn order.

The format itself is text-based narrative, with characters generally having some kind of linked storyline. More traditional games like D&D assume a cohesive group that acts as a unit, but the nature of Progenitor and PbP allows for more freedom in this regard.

MythWeavers is a great site for PbPing since it has a built-in dice rolling program and supports many layers of sub-forums for linking individual plotlines, as well as privacy settings for posts and customized text formatting to distinguish characters. The primary challenge of PbP games, I'll warn, is keeping the interest of those involved over a sustained length of time, so pacing oneself and not getting burned out is the key, as well as having patience for inevitable snags along the way. On the plus side, the pace of posting allows for a uniquely fluid sandbox experience, since the GM can improvise on-the-fly with plenty of time to research in between posts.
