I'm not hard line against it, the fallout from the fish war plays a major role in world politics as well as U.S. policy, however we start play 5 years after the war has ended. I just dont see trucks of alien tech being transported around the nation at this point. You can keep you character as is, i think it would be cool to have an eleven year old running around trying to combat the "alien threat" that he has just spent the last 5 years hearing aboutl. Especialy finding out that talents did the "hero work" of fighting an intersteller war, and then finding out he was a talent. It would be the only thing that he could look up to and model himself after. I will give you a hint though, hitting a Daedalus Innovation tech delivery will give him a peek into Daedalus' link to the fish war. So, he is on the right track.
