[Seattle Go Center] Reminder of Tuesday and Saturday

 Hey All,

Reminder that we are open this Tuesday 3pm-9pm and Saturday 1pm-6pm for in person games. If you can't make it, we still run our zoom games from 6:30pm-9pm (https://zoom.us/j/99377436701). This Tuesday is forecasted to have a high of 89 F. We will be running the AC. But with the windows being open because of our new covid guidelines, it will have a reduced effect. At best, I estimate we will be 5 degrees cooler than the outside . If you have worries about the heat, please feel free to call the Seattle Go Center on the day of ((206) 545-1424) and will do our best to let you know the rough tempture then.

Please do your best to stay safe and cool in these hot days,

Kyle Burg

[Seattle Go Center] The air conditioning will be set to 80 degrees F

Dear Go Players,

We will be open our regular hours on Saturday, June 26  from 1 – 6 pm.  Because of COVID-19 precautions, we usually keep all the windows open, and do not use the air conditioning.  However, because of the extreme heat predicted for this Saturday, we will turn on the A.C.   At the same time, we will keep some windows open because the A.C. does not exchange air with the outside at a high rate, and having ventilation is a good precaution.  Because this is not a very efficient way to cool the space, we will set the air conditioning to 80 degrees, so it will still be warm.  Please dress appropriately.

Note that on cooler days, when we are just using open windows, the inside temperature is about 5 degrees warmer than the outside temperature.

Our cold soda/pop and juice are still free while we use up the old (pre-COVID)  inventory.  The Coke and root beer have been used up, but there still is plenty of Pepsi, V-8,  and non-sugared drinks.

Cheers,

Brian

[Seattle Go Center] Open Tuesday and Saturday

Dear Go Players,

The Seattle Go Center will be open on Tuesdays 3-9 pm, and Saturdays 1-6 pm this month of June.  Our reopening last week went smoothly, and it was great to see of our old friends. We had 18 players on Tuesday, and 12 on Saturday, at all levels up to 6 dan.

We ask that only vaccinated people visit, and that they wear masks while indoors. The deck on the front roof is open for people who want to eat food, or talk without masks.

Last week Chris K surprised us by baking bread.  Unfortunately, that will not be happening this week.  However, you can prepare food in the kitchen, and bring it out to the roof to eat.  All soda/pop and tea are free until we use up the old inventory.

We will be continuing our Zoom + OGS event on Tuesdays, from 6:30 – 9:00,  for those who cannot attend in person.  John Hogan, now in Arizona, will be the host. The Tuesday zoom link is:  https://us06web.zoom.us/j/99377436701

Cheers,

Brian

[Seattle Go Center] Open Saturday 1-6 pm

Dear Go Players,

Yes, the Go Center will be open this Saturday, June 5!  You’re invited if you are fully vaccinated, and wearing a mask.  Our current COVID precautions also include keeping all the windows open.  On Tuesday, the main room was about 5 degrees warmer than the outside air even though we had the windows open.  So it was pretty warm.  This Saturday will be cooler, so it should work out.  We had 18 players on Tuesday.  We hope to see you soon!

Cheers,

Brian

[Seattle Go Center] Thursday "Lessons for New Players" Recruiting

 Hey everyone,

We are looking for more students to join our Thursday night online "Lessons for New Players". This is to help new players build their understanding of the basics of the game. We meet at 5pm-8pm Thursday on zoom (https://us06web.zoom.us/j/85331254129) and use OGS (https://online-go.com/) to help teach the game remotely.

We are also looking for anyone that enjoys teaching new players to help out with teaching the fundamentals of Go. If you are interested, feel free to email me directly at  programs@SeattleGo.org to learn more about it.
