It's been a long time coming.

People have wanted it for years.

It won't be easy.

Here's our chance to make it happen.

GODLIKE in PDF

Ten years ago, the World War II superhero role playing game "GODLIKE: Superhero Roleplaying in a World on Fire, 1936-1946" earned tremendous acclaim for its mix of suspenseful action and intense characterization, its unique approach to superpowers and its innovative rules.

"Slick production values, and a simple and clever system with an eye toward punching through tanks and German machine gun nests, make this a great superhero game." Mark Finn, RevolutionSF

Arc Dream Publishing was founded by Shane Ivey and GODLIKE co-creator Dennis Detwiller specifically to publish new material for GODLIKE. But in all that time we have never released GODLIKE in an electronic format. The main reason has been that it was originally created using page design software that became more and more antique as time went by, so it will take a lot of work to reformat the files so the PDF layout is free from errors.

"I consider it not only the finest of all superhero games but also the finest of all WW2 roleplaying games. It is Godlike, and it is mighty." NiTessine, RPG Blog Carnival #3

That brings us to Kickstarter. Arc Dream has used pledge drives and fundraisers to great effect over the years -- starting with Wild Talents in 2006, when hardly anyone knew what this kind of thing was all about -- and it may be just what we need to finally bring GODLIKE to gamers' screens everywhere.

"If you don't mind a game that is very gritty (and they have optional rules to tone that down), then this game is just incredible." James A. Beggs, RPG.net

If this fundraiser succeeds, it allows us to redo GODLIKE's layout for release in PDF. We'll send the PDF to Kickstarter supporters first, then we'll make it available for sale to everyone in PDF -- and in paperback, which we've likewise never done before.

"The world is richly super [yet] delightfully bleak and war-torn…. Look, up in the sky — and take cover." Kenneth Hite, Out of the Box

If you've never seen GODLIKE for yourself, please visit these links to learn more.
"GODLIKE ultimately succeeds because it successfully and believably integrates superheroes into the war…. Our Pick: 'A'." Ken Newquist, Science Fiction Weekly

Sign up now for GODLIKE in PDF -- and if you want to see it succeed, please help us spread the word!
