Basically, the Talents came off like mutants/aliens intermingling with
humanity... which had some decent X-Men-esque legs. I didn't mind
that. The idea of each generation of Talents getting weaker implied
near godlike beings in the past, which sets up massive continuity
issues (cf Greg's Progenitor brainstorming thread). Yet nothing
happened to change the world (cf various old threads on WoD metaplot
continuity)...
That's the H2 trainwreck I speak of. When you violate even the tagline
on the poster, you've screwed up massively. And that's what I'd done -
no one had punched Hitler in the past, so it stands that no one is
powerful enough to punch Hitler now (in game)... which nerfs the PCs
massively tone-wise.
When a (male) nurse from Leadworth is more badass than your Brick, you
have some serious issues with your setting...
