Hello Go Players,
Three things.
Tomorrow we continue looking at the Honinbo tournament. We finish the
6th game and will do the entire 7th game. This will give us a chance to
work on our new found end game skills.
This Sunday, the Sunday Youth class resumes. I have modified it
slightly this year so that there are two sessions (they overlap.) The
first session is from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and is for players who are
just beginning or are working on their core skills before they start
playing Go (capture, ladders, nets, liberties, snap backs.) The second
session is from 10:00 AM to Noon. These session is for players who are
already playing Go and doing life and death problems. Focus will be on
Joseki, Openings and End game techniques. September and October will
focus on the Start point Josekis.
Cost for this class (either session) is $15. All games played during
the class are reviewed by me via email.
Finally, on November 5th and 6th, Sasaki Tadashi 8p will teach a
workshop at the Seattle Go Center. We will have more thorough
information about the workshop later this week. Sasaki sensei is a
favorite of mine at the Go Congress and this year he supplied me with
two problems each day to work on. All the problems were created by him
and I'm looking forward to his visit to Seattle.
