Hello everyone,
We have decided to end our Sunday group classes effective immediately.
I will be offering private lessons on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each
month and look forward to teaching students in a one-on-one format.
The cohesiveness that the intensive class had when I was able to teach
every week was not sustainable with me being in Bellingham and teaching
only two classes a month. I have enjoyed teaching students who did come
to these classes since my move to Bellingham, but we never had a group
of students that were working toward common goals. So the class would
basically become a flexible private class for those that did turn up.
In my humble opinion, both the student and I would be better served with
just having a private lesson with focused home work and the attendant
study plan.
Scott will be stepping aside from teaching on Sunday so we currently
have no plans to offer privates on Sunday morning when I'm not in town.
For those students interested in privates after 2:00 PM on the Sundays
that I'm not in town, I would be happy to co-ordinate private lessons
with Edward Kim.
If you interested in privates on Sundays, please email me for
specifics. I plan to be teaching from 9:00 AM to Noon and from 1:00 PM
to 5:00 PM. I already have one student penciled in for 4:00 PM. Also,
if you are interested in a half hour session, this would also be
possible (especially for players weaker than 10 kyu.) Finally, if two
players wanted to take a private together, that would also be possible.
Finally, for those of you that have attend my various group classes for
the past 10+ years, I want to thank you for the joy I have received from
teaching all of you.
Thanks,
Jon Boley
