Re: [Seattle Go Center] Wednesday night SDK class starts up!

Hey everyone!  I wanted to provide a few more details on these SDK classes and some of the goals for the series.

I'd like to call these classes "All the things you need to know to get to shodan, and how you might learn them," but really, I'd like to focus on how to take your go to the next level, whatever that means for you.

I know some of my friends have learned the basics, but at a certain point, they get stuck and it's not obvious what they need to do differently to keep improving.  My hope is that these classes will help you learn to think about your approach to Go beyond just lectures on tesuji or shape, and that I can cover some other topics that don't usually make it in books, like "how to teach yourself to read", or "how to ask questions of stronger players to get better answers"'

For tomorrow's class, i'd like to cover some preliminaries, and provide a short survey about what parts of the game you'd like to hear more about.  So if you're there tomorrow, you'll be able to provide some good input on what material we'll cover ;)

I'm looking forward to starting classes this Wednesday, and I hope to see you there!
Andrew

Dear Go Players,

Here's a friendly reminder that the Go Center is expanding its range of classes, with our new SDK (Single Digit Kyu Players) class starting up tomorrow night, Wednesday, June 12, at 7:00 p.m.   With the national Go Congress in Tacoma this summer, this is a great time to improve your game with one of our classes.

We welcome our new instructor, Andrew Jackson, who will use both praise and homework to guide our strong kyu players on to shodan.

Cheers,

Brian
