If you are a new player, and haven’t met Jon (pronounced “Yon”), let me tell you a bit more. Jon is a strong player who cares about teaching well. He was Manager and Lead Instructor at the Go Center for many years, and he was also Director and/or Teacher at many West Coast Go Camps, presented by the American Go Association. Jon and Sally now have two young children; this may explain why Jon’s rating has recently dropped into the 5 dan range from his usual 6 dan rating.
Private lessons with Jon are appropriate for all skill levels, but they are usually more intense than our evening classes. They also provide an opportunity for advanced study for stronger players. I recommend them highly.
