[Seattle Go Center] Beginner's Night at 7pm tomorrow night. What is the right way to live?

Dear Members,

Tomorrow night, July 23, we will ponder the question of "What is the right way to live?" Don't fret beginners, we are only starting the journey of learning to recognize the difference between life and death in Go. To be fair, I stole the name from a cool Philosophy class I took in college way back when. After 3 months of classes, no one still knew the right way to live. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you will "sort of" know by the end of tomorrow night.

As always we will start with a brief introduction to the rules for absolute beginners and for those with some experience, we'll set you up for games, or they'll be life and death problems to set-up and practice with a partner to make best use of your time. (Problems will be taken from the first two pages of life death problems from Cho Chikun's encyclopedia of life and death - elementary, intermediate, and advanced problems for those curious).

New players are always the most welcome.

Experienced players are welcome to contribute to teaching and/or find games during the night. I'm toying with the idea of having a weekly "guest" non-beginner co-host to help share what they've learned from their experience with Go. Elders, please feel free to email me ideas or just that you're planning on coming and we'll make best use of your time!

The class is from 7-9 p.m. The Go Center opens at 2:00, and Frank Fukuda is available for afternoon games. Let's Go!
