[Seattle Go Center] Tournament for Strong Players Sun Sept. 21 10 am

Dear Go Players,

The Pandanet Qualifying Tournament will be held at the Seattle Go Center on Sunday, September 21, at 10 a.m.  This is a tournament for strong players only: AGA 5d or stronger, or equivalent strength (Korean and Chinese 4 dan).  All games will be played even. There will be  $200 first prize, $100 2nd prize, and $10 entry fee.

Since this is rated tournament, you need to have an AGA membership to play.  If you do not have an AGA membership, please join online in advance at https://www.usgo.org/members/join.

The top two players from this tournament will be invited to join the AGA Pandanet City League Team, which represents Seattle in an online tournament that will run from October 2014 to August 2015.  Seattle placed 2nd in the City League Tournament last year, and the team members got a free trip to the 2014 Go Congress in New York, plus the team got $2500 in prize money.  This time, the top prize is $5000 for the team, and the trip is to the Go Congress in Minnesota.  Here are the rules for the City League: http://pandanet-igs.com/communities/agacityleague/113

If you are a strong player, you should come to this tournament, even if you do not want to compete in the Pandanet City League.  You will have a chance to play some high level games face to face, meet other strong players in the area and compete for prize money.  For more information, please contact Sonny (Sung-Chul) Cho at 425 457-2267, or me at the numbers below.
