Dear Members,
The author of “Misaeng”, Yung Tae Ho, will be visiting Seattle from March 28 to April 1. “Misaeng” is a popular manhwa (Korean graphic novel) about a talented and dedicated baduk (Go) player who does not achieve professional status, and who starts working for an international trading company. It is now a very popular K-drama on cable TV.
Several of our members have been following it. Brian Kirby observes, “The series is about go, but more about life in the office. The go analogies used throughout are fun, nonetheless”.
Mr. Yung’s visit has been organized by the University of Washington East Asia Library. They are also presenting an exhibit of Korean Manhwa. Here is the visit schedule:
