Re: [ORE] [Wild Talents] Invulnerable vs non physical attacks

You say yes and no? :p

I say no, because it is the useful quality. But put it in the defends quality and it should work. Right?

If I understand the first question correctly, you want to use Variable Effect on Invulnerable to defend against Telepathy? I would say yes. Permanent and Variable Effect are expensive. That's a good question. Personally, I'd say no. I'd rule that the U quality, even with Variable Effect and Permanent, allows your power to adapt to other physical environments, but Telepathic damage is outside the realm of normal invulnerability.

But, I'd also allow the player to add another Useful quality that allows the character to defend against non-physical attacks. If I count it right, that would increase the power's cost to 25 points.

That's my take on it, anyway.

As to the second question, yes, 4hd chemical fire would still hurt the character. The 2hd in Invulnerable reduces the 4hd chemical fire down to 2hd. And then you have 2 LAR against the damage. If the damage does shock and killing, it would change 2 shock and 2 killing into 3 shock.

Would the useful effect of invunerable using veritable effect to switch to telepathy negate damage from telepathy or any non physical attack.

Also would a environmentally damage of 4HD chemical fire overwhelm a 2HD invulnerable to fire.
