[Seattle Go Center] DDK Monday: The Return of Nick Sibicky

Hey Everyone!

I'm happy to report that I have returned from my Europe trip safely and am very excited to teach the Monday night class again! I got to play a lot of Go in Europe (I met up with Go clubs in 6 different cities, plus a few other games outside official club meetings) and met a lot of really strong players.

During Monday's class I want to show you a recent game by Takemiya Masaki from this year's Honinbo tournament (which is coincidentally Takemiya's first title). Takemiya won his first major title in 1976; and continued to win them over dozens of years. His style has been called "Cosmic Go" and is one of the most distinctive among all professionals. Even though he moved away from "Cosmic Go" a bit during his career, several of his recent games he has returned to it with a vengeance. Takemiya also frequents the US Go Congress every couple of years, and is a big friend to the US Go Community.

I hope to see you all there!

Nick Sibicky 4D AGA
Double-Digit Kyu Class
Mondays 6:30-8:30 PM at the SGC
