Dear Members,
Our one-hour annual membership meeting is coming up on Sunday, March 20 at 2 PM. There will be special snacks! The annual meeting will feature a short slide show of recent Go Center events, including our 20th Anniversary Celebration. We will have short reports on the budget and activities of the Go Center, and the election of three people to the Board of Directors, which has 9 members total.
Two of our current Board Members with terms finishing are willing to serve again, but we are looking for the third position, and we are also open to new nominations as well. The two up for re-election are: Hikojiro (Hiko) Katsuhisa, and Rick Campbell. Anne Thompson is not planning on running again for the Board. Please contact me or our President, Lee Anne Bowie, if you are interested in running for the Board of Directors. We have eleven meetings a year, usually on Mondays at 6:30 pm at the Go Center. We are also happy to know about people interested in joining the Board next year, in 2017.
Yearly Members and Lifetime Members over 13 years of age are voting members of the Go Center. Quarterly Members who have been members more than 93 days (yup, it’s in the bylaws) would also be able to vote, but we do not have any quarterly memberships at present. If you are a voting member of the Seattle Go Center, and you are not coming, please arrange for a voting member who is coming to vote your proxy. (An agreement by email is sufficient.) We need to meet the 25% quorum requirements of our bylaws.
There will be a Board Meeting following the annual meeting at 3:00 p.m. The rest of you can play Go!
