[Seattle Go Center] Weakly Kibitzer (usual schedule)

Hello, Go Folks!

Feedback from last week indicates that a weekly roundup would be popular, at least with some folks, so maybe I'll give
that a try, at least for now. (Let me know if you'd rather I didn't!)

Review
Saturday's "Rengo with Pie" tournament was awesome. 14 teams, 28 players. Table winners: Lusha Zhou (9k) and
Tzu-Jen Chan (3d); Yulissa Wu Lu (10k) and Lucas Wu Lu (9k); Hotaka Ozaki (3k) and Abigail Chen (20k); Joshua Yang
(11k) and Shirley Yang (30k). The AGA E-Journal published a report, and there's more detail (with a few photos) on the
Go Center web page www.SeattleGo.org

Tuesday again saw 25 players, including regulars, beginners, DDKs who've been watching Nick Sibicky on YouTube, and
a return visit from the young dan-strength player from Japan via Los Angeles. I'm not sure if he'll be back next Tuesday,
but that might be your chance to play him.

Reading Ahead
Today (Thursday), the "Complete Beginners" and "Breaking into SDK" classes scheduled; Go Center open 2 PM - 10 PM
for casual games. Saturday's also a good day to play, for all strengths; open 1 PM - 8 PM. Monday, Nick Sibicky returns
with "Tricky Tesujis part 2"; and Tuesday we'll again have the largest weekly gathering of Go players in North America,
with fresh bread expected.

Sun. July 1 and August 5 -- monthly ratings tournaments.
Sat. July 7 and Sun. July 8 -- outreach booth at Japan Fair, Meydenbauer Center, Bellevue (need a few more volunteers).
Later in July -- Go Center Board of Directors meeting; US Go Congress in Virginia; outreach at Bon Odori Festival. See
http://www.seattlego.org/events/ for details.

Reminder
Teachers are available for paid private instruction -- www.seattlego.org/paid-instruction

Hoping to see you across a Go board soon,

PS -- How did the sauté chef win at Go?

(By making excellent reductions!)
