[Seattle Go Center] Online Go; possible East-v-West league (pre-registration form); disinfection resources

Hello fellow Go enthusiasts,

Though the COVID-19 emergency continues, the Go community keeps playing Go, but online now. Yesterday about a dozen Seattle Go players met up online to chat and play using the various online community resources (that I know of; I'm sure there were some I missed).

The National Go Center is organizing a league for online play. The current plan is to have registrations open to all, and have groups of 4 to 6 players who are about the same rating compete against each other. If we get enough players, we'll organize it as east cost vs. west coast. If this sounds like a fun way to spend your socially distanced time away from the Go Center, please fill in the form at https://www.seattlego.org/2020/03/18/online-community-resources/

King County Executive Dow Constantine and Public Health Officer Dr. Duchin now have been urging all residents to self-isolate, and clean and disinfect surfaces we frequently touch (light switches, faucets, etc.). But, what should we use to disinfect? Thanks to an article at Good Housekeeping, I found a list of products the EPA thinks will kill the coronavirus. Most detergents and household disinfectants should work, but some items commonly used for cleaning, like vinegar, probably will not kill the virus. You also can see the CDC cleaning and disinfection guidelines.

See you (later) at the Go Center,

Mike Malveaux
