[Seattle Go Center] Fundraising and Anniversary Tournament 20 OCT

Hello, Go community.  This is our annual request for donations and support for SGC to have enough funds for operations and to demonstrate public support to keep our 501c3 Public Charity status.  This status is the gold standard of non-profits and allows us to seek contributions from critical sources we otherwise could not receive.  One of the best ways you can support us is to buy an annual or lifetime membership (https://www.seattlego.org/membership/).  However, every donation (link below) no matter how small adds up and helps.

We have a goal to raise $5000 this fall to help us maintain our Public Charity status and fund events.

We are trying something new this year for fun, if also a bit cheesy 😊.  We decided to make SGC coffee cups to give as thank you gifts (like publicly supported radio stations).  I've included pictures.  If an annual membership ($250) is too much, and 10-punch cards are best for you ($50), then possibly donating $100 to get a coffee cup is a good middle ground for you to help SGC.  NOTE, we cannot sell these cups for legal reasons, only give them away as part of fundraising if you donate online: https://www.seattlego.org/donate/.

PLEASE help us reach our goal and re-up your membership or donate as you are able.

On to more fun stuff ... ANNIVERSARY TOURNAMENT 20 OCT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will have both open (all even games) and handicap tournaments.  The open tournament is for the 8 strongest players and will have a cash prize of $150 for the player winning 3 games.  Our handicap tournament will also have cash prizes for those who win 3 games (or divided over those who win 2 games if no one wins 3).  There is our usual kids prize of $25 for the person under 18 years old who wins the most games (playing with higher ranks break ties).
