Most of what I'm doing layout for is work-related projects. A few primers, some things I'm trying to get published. It all breaks down to pretty much the way a good character sheet is laid-out, coincidentally.

Artwork around borders, graphics and text overlapping in some places, text fitting around non-linear-edged illustrations, etc.

What *is* a good program for it? I'm open to all kinds of suggestions at this point. I'm still right at the very beginning of the learning process. I graduated from a graphic-design vocational school (fifteen years ago). So, I'm familiar with the work, but not at all current.

Acrobat isn't a (good) program for doing layouts. What are you wanting
to accomplish?
