Dear Members,
Some of the strongest players in the Western World will be teaching weekend workshops at the Seattle Go Center in August. They will be traveling to Seattle after attending the US Go Congress in early August in Minnesota. Both workshops will be taught in English.
On August 15th and 16th, Saturday and Sunday, Myungwan Kim will be teaching a workshop for players 3 kyu and stronger. Myungwan won the US Open in 2008, 2009, and 2010. He is a 9 dan Korean Pro who is now living in California. He will be assisted by his former student Mark Lee, who won the US Open in 2014 after being undefeated in 9 games. Mr. Kim and Mr. Lee will play simultaneous games with the workshop participants, and then analyze the games afterwards. There will also be lectures on the Korean style opening, and analysis of other contemporary games. More information is here:

The next weekend, Aug. 22 and 23, the highest rated Go player living in Europe, Inseong Hwang, will be giving a workshop for players 15 kyu and up. Mr. Hwang has an on-line Go school, the American Yunguseng Dojang, which three of our members highly recommend. This workshop will feature games between workshop members, with Mr. Hwang providing analysis and lessons.
