FW: [Seattle Go Center] Congrats to Brian Kirby

Here’s better information from Brian Kirby:

Thanks, Brian Allen!  The recognition is nice of you :-)

Probably those that participated in the tournament are already aware, but:
* The games were not handicapped (e.g. I played white with 7.5 komi against my last opponent, who was AGA 3.56 dan).
* The link for the results to the US Open is slightly different: http://www.usgo.org/tournaments/crosstab/band-matrix/172 (the one you linked is for the master's tournament).

Either way, thanks very much for the recognition!

Brian

Dear Members,

The biggest Go tournament in North America, the U.S. Open, was held last week at the U.S. Go Congress in Minnesota.  There were 26 players in the Master’s Section, and 270 players in the regular section.

Playing handicapped games, Brian Kirby had 6 wins and no losses.  Congratulations Brian!  It looks like you will soon be 2 dan.  Judy Debel and George Schmitten also did well, with 4 wins and 2 losses.

You can find  the complete handicapped section results here.  Note: the players are organized by the order in which they registered, which is not particularly useful.  However, you can use Control+F  (or the equivalent with Macs) to find a player by name.

Cheers,

Brian
