If a character has Coordination 4, Rifle 4, all 'natural' (no Will spent)- then he will almost always hit his target- yet if that character had HyperCoordination or Hyperskill Rifle to get to the same size dice pool a Contest would somehow be triggered. As for dodging, presumably a 'fastball' thrown by someone that can lift 6 tons will be faster than one thrown by the typical person. Also, if aiming really well (HyperCoordination) means a Talent's 'spider-sense' triggers then presumably the Sense portion of aiming could cause the same trigger.
You have two characters. One has Coordination 4d and Rilfe 4d. The other has Coordination 2d + Hypercoordination 2d, and Rifle 2d + Hyperrifle 2d. They both have 8d dice pools.
The first character doesn't trigger a contest of wills, because he is naturally a very good sharpshooter.
The second character does trigger a contest of wills. This is because he is not an excellent sharpshooter by nature. He is tapping into some metaphysical source that binds all Talents together. That metaphysical source resonates with other Talents. If he shoots at a Talent, and the Talent sees him, the target can sense the character utilizing the metaphysical source. In turn, the target can try to take away the metaphysical source from the character, triggering a contest of wills.
If the target wins, the metaphysical source is taken away. But, the character still gets to shoot him! The character rolls 4d instead of 8d. The target took away the metaphysical conduit to the source of the superpower, but he didn't stop natural physics from working. The character could still roll 4x10 and the target could end up just as dead, it's just much less likely to work out that way.
Likewise, the character could have said, "No, I'm not going to risk Will," and fired the gun without using his special abilities, preventing the Contest of Wills. (Personally, I wouldn't recommend it. The Contest happens before the results are rolled. I'd force the target to commit some Will points. That way if the target wins the Contest, he's down Will points, giving my teammates the opportunity to teleport his butt into space, or set him on fire, or something.)
