Dear Parents and Players,
The Jan. 22 Youth 19x19 Tournament at the Seattle Go Center is a great opportunity for children who are getting serious about Go. This tournament is more challenging than our fun 13x13 events, but it will still be oriented to young players. The games will be rated by the American Go Association (AGA). The tournament, is open to all players under the age of 18 who can finish a 19x19 game. The time periods will be faster than our usual tournament play (30 minutes to a side, rather than 45 minutes). The overtime will be the same (5 periods of 30 seconds). Players must be members of the American Go Association ($10/year), but the tournament is free. To join the AGA, go to: https://www.usgo.org/members/join. There will be book and equipment prizes. Registration is at noon, on the day of the tournament.
