[Seattle Go Center] Good time to donate!

Dear Go Center Members,

Iwamoto Sensei’s generous gift made the Seattle Go Center possible, but it is our responsibility to keep it running.  We rely more on donations than memberships to do this.  Donations allow us to keep the new member 10-visit card free, and to offer 3 ongoing classes at no extra charge, and to do outreach at 6 festivals in the area.

If you itemize your charitable donations on your Federal income tax, this a great time to give to the Go Center.  With the new tax law, it may be to your advantage to take the standard deduction when you do your taxes for your 2018 income.  (The standard deduction will be increased, so that fewer people will benefit from itemizing deductions.)  And if that is your case, then you should maximize your charitable deductions for this year, 2017, when they can do you some good.  There are only 10 days left.  May I suggest donating to the Seattle Go Center, a 501(c)(3) public charity?

You can donate using the Paypal button at the bottom of our donation page.  You do not need a Paypal account to do this.

We also accept donations by check or cash at the Go Center.  We can also accept payment by credit card when Dennis Wheeler or yours truly (Brian) is around to run the chip card reader.

Here are the details for our nonprofit organization: Our Federal EIN is 91-1653-572.  Our formal name is the Nihon Ki-in Go Institute of the West.  (We “do business as” the Seattle Go Center.)  Our formal address is the same as a regular one:  700 NE 45th St., Seattle WA 98105.

Cheers,

Brian Allen
